Larry A. Ruff, CPA, MBA
Larry brings more than 25 years of professional experience with employee benefits and retirement plans to ORBA's clients. He gained a majority of this experience working on the plan sponsor side of the industry. His experience includes working with employee benefits and retirement plans in more than 40 countries around the globe. Since joining ORBA in 2010, Larry helps clients meet their fiduciary responsibilities and comply with all applicable laws and regulations for their employee benefits and retirement plans.
Larry provides services for defined benefit, defined contribution, and health and welfare benefit plans sponsored by sole proprietors and privately-held companies, as well as not-for-profit organizations. He manages all employee benefit plan compliance and counsels clients on day-to-day benefit plan issues as they arise.
He also assists clients with retirement plan design, IRA/retirement distribution planning, plan operational assistance, facilitates resolution of IRS inquiries and DOL audits, prepares participant plan disclosures and specializes in the assessment of benefit plan tax returns for his clients. Larry has experience with benefit plan auditing, employee benefit plan due diligence on acquisitions, plan mergers and terminations, plan investment guidance, plan fee assessment and plan provider evaluation.
Outside of the Office
Larry enjoys getting together with his family. For true relaxation, you might find him out on the golf course or riding a bicycle. He also spends his free time helping with charitable causes and researching investment ideas.
