(JANUARY THROUGH APRIL, FULL TIME)
Tax season interns are involved primarily with personal and business income tax return preparation, but may also be exposed to additional areas of tax as well as audits, reviews, compilations, general accounting and business planning. Training includes some classroom-type instruction, but is predominantly on-the-job with close supervision and constant feedback. The individual will be working closely with all partners and staff, and will have direct contact with clients of various industries.
Specifically, the major duties and responsibilities of an intern will include:
- Gathering, organizing and analyzing data and preparing income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, non-profit organizations and retirement plans;
- Assisting in special projects, such as tax projections or consulting engagements; and
- May also include year-end accounting and work paper preparation on audit, review or compilation engagements
The opportunity is available to graduate students as well as undergraduate students. Course work in Accounting and a general business background is necessary. Course work in Taxes is preferred, but not required. Candidates should have good oral and written communication skills, be detail minded, and have good analytical ability and judgment. The intern will receive feedback throughout the job with a final evaluation with a partner. Salary is approximately $4,000 per month (subject to market increase) plus overtime. We offer tremendous growth opportunities in a diverse and less structured working environment.
