Noted Accounting Expert Joins ORBA as Director of Forensic and Litigation Services

CHICAGO — ORBA is pleased to announce that Scott A. Stringer has joined the firm as Director of Forensic and Litigation Services.

Stringer's diverse financial background includes auditing, tax planning and preparation, business valuations, fraud investigations, and forensic accounting. With more than 25 years of experience as an accounting and finance professional, he has developed particular expertise in disputes and investigations for matters involving both individuals and companies in a variety of industries, ranging from start-ups to the Fortune 100. As an experienced and knowledgeable accounting professional, Scott has been called on to provide expert testimony and forensic accounting services for hundreds of matters filed in state and federal court jurisdictions, as well as arbitration proceedings across the country. The bulk of his work is in cases involving commercial damages, fraud investigations, and business valuations.

“Scott brings a depth of experience to our firm. His participation as an expert in nearly 100 disputes over the past decade, when added to his professional credentials as a CPA, Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Valuation Analyst, make him a tremendous asset to have on your side in any controversy,” said Alan Witt, managing director of the firm. "We are elated to have him as part of our team and we are excited to further develop our Forensic and Litigation Services practice."

Prior to joining ORBA, Stringer served as a Director in the disputes and investigations practice at an international management consulting firm. He also served as the Managing Director at a national CPA firm, where he was the head of the consulting group for one of the local offices. In addition, Stringer was a partner at two other smaller CPA firms, where he served as an advisor to high net worth individuals and entrepreneurial companies. Nationally he serves as Chairman of the Audit committee of the National Children’s Cancer Society, and locally is on the boards of the Chicago Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and Court Appointed Special Advocates of Cook County.
