CHICAGO —  Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams, Ltd. (ORBA), one of Chicago’s largest public accounting firms, is proud to announce that Human Resources Director Sarah Wonnell has been appointed as the new Board Chair of Windy City Performing Arts (WCPA) for a one-year term through July 31, 2020. Sarah has given her time and talents to the organization’s board for the past three years.

Sarah joined the board after watching a former ORBA employee perform at a WCPA concert. She wanted to be involved because she saw how much her colleague enjoyed performing in the Windy City Treble Quire, one of two choirs currently under the WCPA umbrella (along with the Windy City Gay Chorus).

“I love having an opportunity to give back to the arts community and be part of an organization that brings joy to so many people,” Sarah said. “Windy City Performing Arts will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year, and I am honored to help the organization progress and prepare for the next 40 years.

Sarah has served as ORBA’s director of human resources for more than seven years. She utilizes her talent management expertise to monitor and fulfill ORBA’s staffing needs and leads its efforts in recruiting top accounting talent to the firm. Sarah also plays an instrumental role in establishing policies and standards to ensure a stable, productive, safe and welcoming work environment.

About Windy City Performing Arts
Windy City Performing Arts sings to inspire change, celebrate diversity and honor the dignity of the LGBTQ+ community. WCPA was incorporated in 1983 as an independent not-for-profit umbrella organization for Windy City Gay Chorus, Aria: Windy City Women’s Ensemble (later renamed to Windy City Treble Quire), Unison: Windy City Lesbian and Gay Singers, and Windy City Slickers. (Unison and Windy City Slickers are currently on hiatus.) Each ensemble in WCPA performs a variety of musical styles from classical to pop. WCPA prides itself on musical excellence regardless of the style of music. The choruses have a history of performing major choral works including special commissioned pieces.
