Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams, Ltd. (ORBA), one of Chicago’s largest accounting firms, is pleased to announce that Scott Stringer, Director of Forensic & Litigation Services, has been elected to The National Children’s Cancer Society (NCCS) Board of Directors.

“The NCCS provides emotional and financial support to families during a child’s cancer treatment, which allows the family to stay focused on the health and well-being of their child,” said Scott Stringer.  “I am pleased to be part of an organization like the NCCS because it has a positive effect on these children and their families.”

In the United States, the NCCS eases the financial burden that accompanies childhood cancer, gives crucial support to parents and children and addresses the challenges of survivorship through its “Beyond the Cure” program.  Globally, the organization distributes donated pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to facilities that treat childhood cancer around the world.

Scott was previously a board member from 1993 to 2004, serving as Chairman of the Board from 2001-2003.  In 2004, after retiring from the board after 11 years of service, Scott was asked by the board to form and chair the Audit committee of the NCCS.  He has served as the outside Chairman of the Audit Committee ever since.

“Scott brings key skills and valuable perspectives to our organization,” said Mark Stolze, President and Chief Executive Officer of the NCCS.  “We are fortunate to have such a talented individual serving on our Board and helping us fulfill our mission.”
