Position Summary:
The Accounting Services Senior is responsible for processing assigned client engagements within the department in a cost-effective and professional manner including, but not limited to, computer-compiled financial statements, payroll tax/sales tax reporting issues and business/individual tax returns. Audit Senior
Position Summary:
The Audit Senior is responsible for overseeing audit, review and compilation engagements and is responsible for resolving most accounting issues that arise during these engagements under the guidance of the Audit Manager and or the Audit Director. The individual will perform some engagements with minimal supervision and will direct staff and instruct them in the work to be performed, review the work completed by the staff and direct necessary revisions.
Essential Duties:
- Supervising the work of audit staff including reviewing their work and provide on the job training.
- Conduct basic, specialized and complex financial, operational and compliance audits under the direction of the audit director.
- Perform risk assessment prior to the beginning of an audit engagement.
- Prepare the most complex work papers, to adequately document accounting & audit work performed and to support the conclusions reached.
- Prepare draft of financial statements and management letters. Will be expected to wrap up the engagement in a timely manner.
- Perform reviews and compilations.
- Report progress of the audit, compilation or review engagement to both Audit Manager and Audit Director regularly.
- Perform audit or review procedures as assigned by the Audit Managers or Audit Director.
- Conduct research, prepare memorandums and summarize findings.
- Demonstrate the ability to assume responsibility for supervision of the daily fieldwork of engagements and client contact
- Prepare very complex individual, trust and business tax returns.
- Prepare an evaluation of the staff on the engagement at the end of the engagement but give guidance to the staff when necessary during the engagement.

Essential Duties:
- Review Form 5500 and 8955-SSA returns timely in a deadline-oriented environment.

- Provides first level desktop support and escalates as needed.

Essential Job Functions:
- Handles regular correspondence with clients as delegated by Directors
- Performs bookkeeping and journal entries using QuickBooks
- Schedules appointments and keeps appointment calendars for multiple Directors using Microsoft Outlook.
- Makes travel arrangements
- Arranges for meetings and conferences and may take notes
- Receives, reads and routes incoming mail to Director
- Maintains files of correspondence and other records

Senior Accountant
A client of ORBA’s is looking for a Senior Accountant. This is a hybrid opportunity and we’re looking for someone with experience working in the transportation industry.
What the work entails?
- Develop financial reporting packages
- Develop performance measures that support the Company’s strategic direction
- Participate in creation of the budget and monthly cash flow
In addition to that you will:
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the management team
- Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
- Manage the accounting for all Companies and implement best practices for the accounting team to use
And also:
- Oversee the issuance of financial information
- Perform consolidated month-end close for multiple entities
- Prepare the monthly reporting package

Desired qualifications:
- The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 2+ years of experience in public accounting

Senior Tax Manager
Position Summary:
The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for providing guidance to junior level tax staff on the completion of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns. They will also review the work of the tax preparer and correspond directly with the Director or Client.
Essential Duties:
- Review returns prepared by tax preparers.
- Bring significant tax questions and suggested planning opportunities to the attention of the Tax Director or Client.
- Research and propose resolution to technical tax matters.
- Complete tax returns timely in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Complete income tax projections and quarterly estimates.
- Demonstrate effective project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and service.
- Maintain involvement in all aspects of client relationships.

Education and Experience:

Job Summary:
The Tax Director is responsible for applying industry specific knowledge to advise clients on tax implications, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance and identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. In this role, the Tax Director is charged with applying knowledge to understand potential tax issues, and recognizing, communicating potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy, and making top-level decisions regarding filing, preparation and resolution of questions from federal / state agencies. The Tax Director actively participates in the marketing, networking and business development within an area of expertise and specialization while maintaining client relationships and acting as the primary contact for complex questions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures both that clients comply with all federal state and local tax authorities, while at the same time minimizing their tax and reporting burdens
- Practices hands-on client service delivery
- Identifies complex issues to be researched by engagement team and provides research methodology for efficient research process
- Assists with developing, recommending and implementing efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing clients’ current and future taxes.
- Applies expert knowledge of the process of combining tax knowledge and knowledge of business/industry to recommend solutions and maximize results
- Applies general knowledge of multiple tax specialties (i.e. International, PTET, SALT, Estate Planning) for issue identification and resolution

Position Summary:
We are seeking Tax Managers to assist in our rapidly expanding Athletes and Entertainers practice area. This position is responsible for the review of complex individual income tax returns with multi-state filing requirements, as well as related entity level returns. The Tax Manager will provide guidance to junior level tax staff on the completion of various tax returns, be responsible for ongoing tax planning, responses to tax authority notices and inquiries and other financial issues that arise among these clients throughout the year.
