With more than 20 years of experience, Sandy Burhans joins ORBA as the Sports and Entertainment Group Leader. Sandy is a trusted advisor regarding income taxes within the professional athlete and entertainment industry. Sandy has direct experience with facilitating her clients’ tax preparation through the complicated “jock tax” spider web. She also has a wealth of knowledge about the leagues, teams and financial advisor relationships. Previously, Sandy spent two decades with a top sports agency that specialized in the NBA and NFL where she handled many client relationships spanning from the athletes’ rookie year to veteran status to retirement.

Sandy puts her clients first, working with them and their financial teams to develop immediate and long-term tax strategies, which minimize tax liabilities and help them meet their financial goals and preserve wealth for a lifetime.

Sandy is currently a member of the firm’s Community Outreach and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committees.

Sandy takes a personalized approach when interacting with her clients. It is this approach that enables her to fully understand her clients’ needs and provide them with the best tax planning strategies. Sandy ensures that she maintains an open line of communication with her clients so that they can feel comfortable reaching out to her with any questions that may arise throughout the year.

Outside of the Office

Sandy enjoys traveling and sipping wine with her husband. She loves attending sporting events, especially the ones in which her children and clients participate.
