Accounting Team Lead, Cloud CFO Services
Position Summary:
We are an elite accounting firm headquartered in downtown Chicago in the NBC Tower that allows 100% remote work by anyone in the USA. Our team is seeking an Accounting Team Leader who will mesh well with our team and our clients. Our team is one of the business functions within ORBA, and we offer a unique mix of both a small company feel with the support of a larger firm.
Essential Job Functions:
- Be a mentor to your team to ensure they have a proper growth path within our firm
- Hold weekly team (pod) meetings to discuss any client issues and team capacity constraints
- Meet weekly with other team leaders and VP of Client Services to discuss new client staffing and departmental issues
- Hold monthly 1 on 1 with each person on your team to discuss their development and happiness
- Perform quarterly and annual performance reviews for each team member to hold them accountable and ensure their progression

Audit Manager
Position Summary:
The Audit Manager is responsible for all phases of project and engagement management for multiple clients. Responsibilities include planning, directing and completing audits, developing and managing staff and reviewing financial statements and related technical accounting issues.
Essential Job Functions:

Audit Senior
Position Summary:
The Audit Senior is responsible for overseeing audit, review and compilation engagements and is responsible for resolving most accounting issues that arise during these engagements under the guidance of the Audit Manager and or the Audit Director. The individual will perform some engagements with minimal supervision and will direct staff and instruct them in the work to be performed, review the work completed by the staff and direct necessary revisions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervising the work of audit staff including reviewing their work and provide on the job training
- Conduct basic, specialized and complex financial, operational and compliance audits under the direction of the audit director.
- Perform risk assessment prior to the beginning of an audit engagement.
- Prepare the most complex work papers, to adequately document accounting & audit work performed and to support the conclusions reached.
- Prepare draft of financial statements and management letters. Will be expected to wrap up the engagement in a timely manner.
- Perform reviews and compilations
- Report progress of the audit, compilation or review engagement to both Audit Manager and Audit Director regularly
- Perform audit or review procedures as assigned by the Audit Managers or Audit Director
- Conduct research, prepare memorandums and summarize findings
- Demonstrate ability to assume responsibility for supervision of the daily fieldwork of engagements and client contact
- Prepare very complex individual, trust and business tax returns
- Prepare an evaluation of the staff on the engagement at the end of the engagement but give guidance to the staff when necessary during the engagement.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned.
Experience and Skills:
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting & audit experience in public accounting
- Minimum of 1 year leading audits
- Experience preparing tax returns is a huge plus

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Database Administrator: Contract Position
Position Summary
ORBA’s Marketing Department is seeking to hire a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Database Administrator who will be integral in the development, training and maintenance of our new CRM system. This will be a contract position that will be from April through June. The ideal candidate will be working closely with the departments, directors and staff.
Essential Job Functions
- Work closely with the COO and Directors of IT and Marketing to develop, maintain and administer the CRM system.
- Maintain the data integrity within the system, including:
- Review and accept updates and new data entries on both prospects and clients made by all employees.
- Task management related to CRM opportunities, including:
- Assist directors with CRM pipeline management, including follow-up with them on leads and open opportunities.
- Managing the client intake and attrition process
- Individual follow-ups via phone and email when required.

Marketing and Business Development Manager
Position Summary
ORBA, one of Chicago’s largest accounting firms, seeks a Marketing & Business Development Manager to work closely with the firm’s various practice and industry groups to execute and implement their strategic plans. The Marketing & Business Development Manager will also prepare responses to RFPs and assist and collaborate in the planning, development and implementation of a variety of marketing and business development projects and programs to achieve the firm’s marketing and business development objectives. Candidates will be required to take a written test.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work proactively with the firm leadership and various practice and industry groups to manage, implement and execute industry and practice group marketing and business development plans and initiatives.
- Work closely with practice and industry groups to plan, execute and initiate follow-up in regard to activities, such as webinars, seminars and networking events.
- Prepare and monitor responses to RFPs and manage pipeline reporting.
- Engage in research, analysis and competitive intelligence-gathering for strategic planning, competitive firm positioning and business development activities.
