CHICAGO — ORBA, one of Chicago’s largest public accounting firms, is pleased to announce that Tony Van Howe has joined the firm as a Controller in the Operations Management Group, Derek Mammen joins the firm’s Audit Group, Brian Ford joins the firm’s Tax Group and Tiffany St. Peter joins the Cloud CFO Services Group.
Tony Van Howe joins the firm’s Operations Management Group as Controller. Tony works with leadership and is responsible for the firm’s financial activities and reporting processes. In his role, Tony is tasked with maintaining precise financial records, guaranteeing adherence to tax laws and regulations, overseeing internal control procedures, managing cash flow, mitigating risks, developing annual forecasts and budgets, conducting financial analysis and leveraging his expertise to inform strategic decision-making within the firm. Tony earned his Bachelor of Science in Business and Administration from Walsh College.
Brian Ford joins the firm’s Tax Group as a Tax Associate. Brian has experience in both tax and audit in the public and private sector. He is proficient in preparing individual and business income tax returns, handling accounts receivable, preparing 1099’s and 1096’s, conducting tax research, and audit preparation and risk assessment. Brian earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Akron.
Derek Hammen joins the firm’s Audit Group as an Audit Manager. His accounting and audit experience includes audit engagements of middle market companies primarily in the manufacturing, distribution and technology industries. He is adept at researching and understanding technical accounting matters to create accounting policies and memorandums for the clients he serves. Derek also assists in the firm’s Audit and Assurance Quality Control process by performing internal inspections, providing technical consultations and conducting trainings for the firm’s Audit Group. He earned both his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.
Tiffany St. Peter joins the firm’s Cloud CFO Services Group as Controller. Tiffany has experience in the professional services, retail, food and beverage (including breweries), Ecommerce, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, tech companies, cannabis and not-for-profit industries, providing clients with annual audits, consulting and bookkeeping services, along with financial statement preparation and analysis. Her previous experience also includes serving as a corporate controller and the sole proprietor and consultant of an outsourced accounting firm. Tiffany earned her Master of Science in Accounting from New Mexico State University and her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from National American University.
