CHICAGO — ORBA, one of Chicago’s largest public accounting firms, is pleased to announce that Jason Gierhahn, Galina Morgovsky and Eliza Tumbas have joined the firm’s Tax Group, while Kara Schneider has joined the firm’s Marketing Department, and Chad Emerson has joined the Cloud CFO Services Group.
Jason Gierhahn joins the firm’s Tax Group as a Tax Manager, offering strategic tax planning and technical advice to clients. With nearly 20 years of experience understanding taxation of flow-through entities, including S corporations, he is adept in preparing and managing financial statement audits and not-for-profit and corporate tax returns, as well as addressing state and local taxation issues. Jason also works with clients who need to setup their tax-exempt status. Jason received his Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Iowa and his Master of Business Administration in Financial Analysis and Investments from Saint Xavier University.
Galina Morgovsky joins the firm’s Tax Group as a Senior Tax Manager. Galina has more than 20 years of accounting and tax experience working with high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, S-corporations and limited liability companies in a number of industries, including real estate, health care, information technology, professional services, and manufacturing and distribution. Galina provides federal and multi-state tax compliance and consulting services in relation to complex tax returns, including projections and voluntary disclosures of offshore accounts. She also represents clients in federal and state income tax examinations. Galina received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Administration from Drexel University.
Eliza Tumbas joins the firm’s Tax Group as a Tax Associate. She has experience preparing client accounting journal entries and balance sheet accounts reconciliation. Her experience also includes preparing monthly, quarterly and annual payroll tax returns. She is also proficient in developing cash flow analysis models to gain insight on clients’ cash flows. Eliza received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Indiana University.
Kara Schneider joins the firm’s Marketing Department as the FibreCRM Database Administrator. She collaborates with leadership across the firm to develop strategic plans and manage the rollout of the various modules within the system. She also manages data quality, analytics reporting, and user adoption and training on the system. Kara joins ORBA from Altair Advisors where she served as a project associate and played a key role in transitioning the firm from Microsoft Dynamics to Sales Force. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Journalism from Indiana University.
Chad Emerson joins the firm’s Cloud CFO Services Group as a Senior Associate. He provides expertise in creating and managing budgets, forecasting and financial analysis. He also assists clients with general accounting needs, along with conducting financial data analysis, assurance and bookkeeping. In addition to overseeing the full accounting cycle, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations and month- and year-end closing processes, Chad has experience managing tax compliance processes. Chad received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angelas and his Bachelor of Business Studies in Accounting from Colorado State University.
