CHICAGO — ORBA, one of Chicago’s largest public accounting firms, is proud to announce that Akeem Ogunsegun and Patty Ruiz will join Carlo Calma as Co-Chairs of ORBA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee. Both Akeem and Patty have dedicated their time and talents to the DEI Committee since it was established in August 2020.
“It is important for me to create a culture of belonging at work,” said Akeem Ogunsegun. “As the new Co-Chair, I will do what I can to further advance the Committee’s mission of making everyone feel respected, heard and supported.”
To date, ORBA’s DEI Committee has spearheaded educational campaigns, launched employee surveys and increased awareness of local cultural events. It also sponsored the 2021 AIDS Run & Walk Chicago.
“Words cannot begin to describe how proud I am of everything that the Committee has accomplished in just over a year,” said Patty Ruiz. “I am excited to continue the momentum and see what new initiatives unfold in the Committee’s future.”
