CHICAGO — Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams, Ltd. (ORBA), one of Chicago’s largest accounting firms, is pleased to announce that it has been named among INSIDE Public Accounting’s (IPA) Top 200 Public Accounting Firms in its fourth annual rankings survey.

“We proud to be included among this elite group,” said Mark Thomson, Managing Director of ORBA. “ORBA is growing strategically across all industry sectors to respond to the needs of our clients. This growth is the result of the confidence and trust our clients have in our work and our service.”

This year, more than 500 firms participated in the IPA annual Survey and Analysis of Firms along with many CPA firm associations who contributed to the search to identify the IPA 200. Thirteen firms debuted on this year’s IPA 200. ORBA joins this prestigious group ranked at No. 138, which is the highest new ranking of any Midwest firm. IPA 200 firms range from $14-$30 million in revenue, and range in size from 60-200 staff. Collectively, as a group they account for more than 11,000 staff across 300 offices, generating $2 billion in revenues.

According to Michael Platt, the Publisher of IPA, the IPA 200 averaged 4.3% top-line growth and 3.7% growth in the bottom line. Additionally, 20% of the IPA 200 firms derive more than 30% of their revenues from non-traditional services. Much like their IPA 100 peers, IPA 200 firms are also actively engaged in acquisitions to grow in size, scope and capability, with more than 25 mergers reported among the group last year, pulling in over 400 staff and $40 million more to the aggregate numbers of the group.
